A musician between two worlds, Diana Baroni is a flutist and singer currently appearing in the most prestigious festivals of the Baroque and World Music scenes. Originally from Argentina, she studied music and diverse instruments: flutes, guitar and singing.

In 1985 she came for the first time to Europe, obtaining an invitation to participate on the summer workshops from the International Menuhin Music Academy.

When she returned to Buenos Aires, she began her professional music career (1987-1994) specializing in the contemporary repertory, notably in the productions of the Colon Theatre Experimental Centre, Buenos Aires, under the direction of composer Gerardo Gandini.
She was a founding member of the ensemble Halloween, where she played and sang the creations of American avant-garde artists such as John Cage, Charles Ives, Morton Feldmann and world premières from young composers.

Living in Europe since 1995, she studied baroque transverse flute with Wilbert Hazelzet and early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Jesper Christensen (Abschlusskonzert 1998). 
At the Sweelink Conservatorium of Amsterdam, she received the Soloist Diploma in 1999 as a student of Jed Wentz.

With Pablo Valetti and Céline Frisch, she created the baroque ensemble Café Zimmermann, with whom, since 2000, they regularly record for the label Alpha Productions, Paris.

During many years, she devote herself to the study and performance of the complete sonatas for flute or violin from Johannes Mattheson, Der Brauchbare Virtuoso, together with Dirk Boerner. Their recording was awarded and received with great critical acclaim.

Her passion for afro-Peruvian music of the Pacific Coast dates back to her Amsterdam period. She met Paraguayan harpist Lincoln Almada, who encouraged her to sing again. This meeting led to the discovery of the traditional music repertory. Son De Los Diablos her first album as singer and band leader with the band Sapukai , was a critically acclaimed success and proof of empathetic musicality.

Awarded to be "Artist in Residence", a programm promoted by Espacio Infoculture in Huesca -Spain, during January 2005 she investigated further into Peruvian traditional and hispanic roots, preparing a new repertoire and creating the Diana Baroni Trio. Their work gave birth to a new album Nuevos Cantares del Peru, published by Blue Art Records, Argentina. 
In 2008, the trio record Flor de Verano for the austrian label Pao Records, inviting for this new project the kora player and composer Tunde Jegede. 

With the popular and ever-adventurous Brodsky Quartet she established an artistic collaboration, to explore the repertoire rooted in afro-Hispanic traditions, performing old and new music from the colonies in South America.
